Student Registration, University of Galway

The registration of students on the University's taught and research programmes.

A student had to produce various certificates before he/she could be enrolled at the University. These certificates included a diploma or degree certificate or class tickets, a certificate from his local presbytery showing he had passed its examinations, a certificate of character from the minister of the congregation he attended and, up until 1960 an examination board certificate showing he had passed the College entrance examination.
